Integrity Watch is an Afghan civil society organization committed to increase transparency, accountability, and integrity in Afghanistan.
Integrity Watch works with local communities, officials, public representatives, and private sector actors to fight against corruption and empower citizens to act with integrity and demand accountability from all actors making decisions that stand to have an impact on their lives. Integrity Watch trains and mentors’ members of local communities to monitor humanitarian aid and education and healthcare service. It conducts policy-relevant research to better inform decision-makers and Afghan citizens in this regard. Integrity Watch works closely with civil society organizations to build their technical capacity to oversee humanitarian aid and provision of healthcare and education services, and to strengthen their internal organizational practices. Integrity Watch engages in evidence-based advocacy for the adoption of policies and practices that increase transparency, accountability, and integrity in Afghanistan.
The Finance Intern will report to Finance Manager, and will work closely with Main Office, Finance Officer and Accountant. The intern has to be exceedingly open to new learning, well organized, flexible and enjoy the challenges of supporting an office of diverse people and programs. The Finance Intern will be mainly responsible for processing financial documents, preparing vouchers, checking bills for accuracy, checking bills with purchase request and purchase order for correctness.
Main Responsibilities and duties:
• Keep records of all financial vouchers in chronological order
• Review the supporting documents of submitted payment requests, prepare financial vouchers before scan the voucher as per IWA payment procedures.
• Maintain a proper filling system for all financial documents (bank, cash, reconciliations) for easy reference.
• Keep the financial data up to date including photocopy or scan financial documents
• Any other task assign by finance manager.
Education
• Bachelor degree in Finance, Business Administration or any relevant field
Experience
• Any volunteer and internship experience is preferred.
• Candidates with no work experience are preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Familiar with basic accounting procedures and computer software
• Ability to work in a professional setting; establish priorities and to plan and coordinate activities with others members
• Ability to work under pressure and cope with deadlines
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with better interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English and local languages is a must with a good written and verbal communications
• Willingness and capacity to become better equipped to perform job responsibilities by transferring new knowledge and skills gained through training to the workplace.
