About Afghanistan Research, Development and Health Organization - ARDHO:

Afghanistan Research, Development and Health Organization (ARDHO) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-for-profit and independent organization developed in 2019 by a group of community development and research specialists and registered with the Ministry of Economy (registration number: 4727). The aim of the organization is to contribute to the development of Afghanistan as an integral part of the international community. It envisages accomplishing its aims by building local capacities, generating evidence in various disciplines, promoting evidence-based best practices, and implementing developmental projects aimed at Community Development at the grass root level.

ARDHO services include planning of humanitarian and development projects, designing feasibility studies, and management of community-based interventions for the development of target communities through best practices. ARDHO considers a multi-sectoral approach to Community Development and hence ensures its services to be offered through an extended range of sectors spanning health, Nutrition, Research, Education, WASH, Food Security and livelihood.  It also tries to ensure that women empowerment, as a key cross-cutting issue, is at the center of Community Development. ARDHO has access to most of the provinces of Afghanistan with greatest acceptance.

 

Job Descriptions:

The Storekeeper plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient management and control of materials and supplies related to the Target Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP). This position involves overseeing the storage, issuance, and record-keeping of commodities, as well as coordinating with logistics and program teams to support the successful implementation of the TSFP project.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory Management:
  • Receive, inspect, and record all incoming TSFP-related materials and commodities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records of stock levels, expiration dates, and other relevant details.
  1. Storage and Security:
  • Organize and manage the storage of TSFP materials in a systematic and secure manner.
  • Implement proper storage conditions to preserve the quality and safety of commodities.
  1. Issuance and Distribution:
  • Coordinate with logistics and program teams to ensure timely issuance of materials for TSFP activities.
  • Prepare and document materials for distribution, ensuring accurate and complete records.
  1. Quality Control:
  • Conduct regular quality checks on received commodities and report any discrepancies or quality issues to the appropriate authorities.
  • Collaborate with program teams to ensure that only approved and high-quality materials are used in TSFP activities.
  1. Reporting:
  • Generate regular reports on stock levels, consumption rates, and distribution activities.
  • Provide timely information to support decision-making and planning processes.
  1. Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Liaise with logistics, procurement, and program teams to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions related to TSFP activities, providing input on logistics and materials management.
  1. Record-Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all TSFP-related transactions, including receipts, issuances, and stock balances.
  • Ensure that documentation complies with organizational and donor requirements.
  1. Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and donor regulations in all aspects of storekeeping.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to materials management.

Knowledge and Skills:  

  • Knowledge in report writing
  • Good communication and presentation skills 
  • Good analytical and writing skills in data management.
  • Demonstrate willingness to improve own knowledge and skills by actively participating in any training sessions and capacity building activities 
  • Willing to look beyond his/her job description and views cooperation between departments holistically 
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts (field experience)
  • Ability to conceptualize, design and plan for projects and to prepare reports and proposals.
  • Able to manage and plan the work effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with the government and non-government organizations and effective outreach and networking
  • Ability to build close working relationships and trust with the Project team in relation to program implementation.
  • Experience in using data management and analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of nutrition and public health principles, particularly in the context of emergency and development settings.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and challenging environment.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven two years of experience as a storekeeper or in a similar role, preferably in the context of nutrition or humanitarian programs.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
