Project Background : 

Health Sector Response to protection & Increasing Access to RMNCAH Services project funded by UNFPA for 2023 will provide psychosocial support services to the beneficiaries through Psychosocial Counselling Centers (PSCCs), community-based PSS/health education center and Mobile Outreach Teams (MOTs) which are One Stop Assistance Centers in the targeted provinces each (Kabul, Balkh, Jawzjan, Samangan, Kunduz, Faryab, Baghlan, Bamyan, and Daikundi).
The objectives of the project are to facilitate access for all women and adolescent girls to knowledge, skills and a range of relevant services, support women’s and adolescent girls’ psychosocial well-being and creation of social networks, serve as a places where women and adolescent girls can organize and access information about the health and PSS services serve as a key entry point for their needs and to provide a space where women and adolescent girls can access basic skills training as a way of building a foundation for their livelihood assets.

Job Description:

Job Purpose: 

He/ she will provide psychosocial support, basic GBV case management support to vulnerable women and girls through individual counselling follow up support, referrals, and dissemination of information on available services to encourage access to services.She will in collaboration with the PSCC in charge/ Training Officer oversee provision of psychosocial /group support, skills building with local partner, information sessions and other recreational activities that promote social support networks and cohesion with women and girls at Community health education/PSCC, WFHS centers.

Main Duties & Responsibilities: 
Responsible for day-to-day management and supervision of the Woman Friendly Health Services (WFHS).
Ensure the WFHS guidelines are followed in all activities of WFHS.
Provide PSS case management, including referral to any other available services (health, specialized mental health, etc.) when requested by the client.
Regular and continuous follow-up of clients registered in the WFHS.
Provide individual and group psychosocial support to women and girls to help them cope with the trauma reactions.
Provide psychological first aid (PFA) and assess the needs of clients through one-to-one sessions.
Responsible for maintaining and confidentiality of all registered documents.
Compile and share weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports with the relevant person/Technical Manager.
In consultation with the technical manager, provide technical support to all WFHS activities, and community mobilizers.
Based on the request of the authorized person, attend, and participate in all relevant meetings/training-related meetings to the program's purpose.
Ensure that all work with clients is kept confidential and that ethical practices are always followed.
Process request and purchase requests for the WFHS needy supplies and ensure WFHS supplies are constant and are used properly.
Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.
Compliance & Ethics:
• Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.
Safeguarding : 
• It is all staff’s shared responsibility and obligation to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work, including adults who may be particularly vulnerable and children. This includes safeguarding from the following conduct by our staff or partners: sexual exploitation and abuse; exploitation, neglect, or abuse of children and adults at risk; and any form of trafficking in persons.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications : 

1. Diploma in psychology, bachelor’s in psychology is preferred.
2. Midwife with two years extensive experience in PSS field for remote location and where the IPs could not onboard the candidate with bachelor’s degree.

Experience : 

At least 2 years of field experience within a Humanitarian NGO/Agency in the same or similar position.
Good coordination, networking, inter-personal and relationship building skills, and diplomacy.

Competency : 

Extensive experience providing psychosocial support to individuals and groups.
Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Skilled at working as a team member.
Possess group facilitation skills.
Able to speak/write in Pashto and Dari with clarity and ease.
Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours.
Ability to work under pressure.
Demonstrate strong local language correspondence skills. Particularly in fluency in

Attitudes and aptitude aligned with the positions are essential.
